Technical Frequency Asked Questions

I have added a Domain Name but it does not seems to be Activated - Why?
Some of the Domain Names (.it, .ru...) cannot be activated automatically. Please contact our support regarding this matter.

How do I use FTP to upload files to my site?
Simply open your FTP program and put as Host Address the address of our server (you can find it on your Host's Settings). Then as login put your FTP Login (hostXXXX) and your Password. Port of our FTP Server is the default port 21. Click on Connect and as connected, you are ready to upload your files.

How do I use Telnet to reach my server?
Simply open any terminal program to connect to our Telnet Server, use the Telnet Address that you can find on your Host's Settings. Then as login fill your Telnet Login (hostXXXX) and your Password. Port of our Telnet Server is the default port 23 and 2323.

What is Anti-hotlinking?
It is technology that allows you to protect content on your site (images, audio, video and archive files) from direct linking from other sites. You can choose the minimal size of the file that will be protected. All smaller files of your Anti-Hotlinking limit will not be protected. Example: Your site has an address "site.domain-name.com", you have placed there two image files, small.jpg (10 Kb), large.jpg (50 Kb) and set Anti-Hotlinking limit to 20 KB. In this case the link from your site will work for both files but link from other site (example: site.otherdomain.com) will work only for the file small.jpg.

What is CPU Usage, CPU seconds?
This is for users who are going to use cgi programming scripts. CPU usage is measured as "CPU Seconds" in 0.01 second intervals. If you have a CGI that takes 4 seconds to run and uses an average of 20% of the CPU while running, that would equal 0.8 CPU seconds. Most people never come close to their CPU allotment. These allotments are in place to insure that no single web site unfairly monopolizes the CPU resources of our system. 1000sec are included on each Gb of data transfer.

What is SSI (Server Side Include)?
It is a technology that allows you to manage your Web-Pages more simply and effectively.
Please read our Documentation about SSI.

Do you support Password Protected Sites?
Yes we do!
Please read our Documentation on how to use .htaccess file.

Does CGI scripts works on your system?
Yes. You have to place all your CGI scripts in cgi-bin directory and set on them 750 permission. All directories inside cgi-bin should have 750 permissions also.
Also please read our Documentation about System Limits.

Is Perl5 Installed on your system?
Yes, path to Perl is /usr/bin/perl

Does PHP scripts works on your system?
Yes. See phpinfo() for the list of supported functions.

Can I access to log files?
No, we do not host log files for your host. But you can organize log files yourself using free cgi scripts that are posted on the internet.

I do everything correct but I'm getting "500 Internal Server Error"
Possibly your scripts need more resources than we provide you by default. Please contact our support. Expansion of the limits are done at no charge.
Also you can read our documentation about system limits.

Some of my emails do not send correctly through sendmail
Even if I did everything correct... - In order to prevent SPAM we have setup a limit of 60 email messages per hour for each host. Please contact our support with the motivation of your request to expand this limit.
Read our documentation about sendmail
